Russian Government Will Protect And Support The Development Of Russian Textile Industry
According to the Russian news agency, Russian President Dmitri Medvedev visited Ivanovo, Russia's textile industry center in June 20th, and presided over a presidium meeting of the State Council on the garment industry.
Medvedev said he would order the government departments to protect the Russian domestic textile industry.
Medvedev said: "I will ask the government as a whole, and the Ministry of interior, the Federal Security Agency, the Ministry of justice and the customs to formulate corresponding comprehensive measures to protect the domestic textile market.
Russia should deal with grey import and illegal production. "
Mei said that according to the data of the working group of the Bureau of the State Council, about half of the Russian light industry products were illegally produced or illegally imported.
The resulting tax loss is about 650 billion (189 billion 200 million yuan or 27 billion 500 million dollars) rouble.
