The Fair LabourAssociation was established in 1999. It is a non-profit non-governmental organization. It cooperates with the ILO, the governments and their labor relations coordination agencies, and urges Member companies and distributors to abide by the labor standards and the code of conduct in their supply chain factories.
Factory code of conduct
The Federation of garment industries is committed to eliminating sweatshops in the United States and overseas. Therefore, on the basis of the survey, the Federation of garment industries has set the following standards to ensure that the garment factories have decent and humane working conditions.
The Federation believes that the following standards will ensure that products will not be produced under exploitation and inhumane conditions, so that consumers can build confidence.
Forced labour
Forced labour is not allowed, whether prisoners, contract workers, slaves or other forms of forced labor.
Child labor
It is not allowed to employ children under 15 years of age (or under the age of 14 under the law of the country where the factory is under the law), or though they are over 15 years old, but do not exceed the compulsory education age stipulated by the state where the factory is located.
