Guangzhou Transportation Co., Ltd. is a large state-owned enterprise approved by the Guangzhou Municipal People's government. After more than 40 years of arduous pioneering, reform and enterprising, it has become one of the largest state-owned transportation enterprises in Guangdong. In 1995, it was designated as a pilot enterprise for the establishment of a modern enterprise system in Guangzhou. In 1997, it was approved by the relevant departments of Guangzhou, and successfully transformed into a wholly state-owned limited liability company.

The company mainly engaged in passenger and freight transport, vehicle repair, trade, venue rental, tourism services, vocational training and other businesses, with nearly 200 types of trucks, loading and unloading machinery more than 20, large and medium-sized buses nearly 200 vehicles, nearly 700 taxis, including the Asia Pacific region with the largest vehicle load of 300 tons of large tractor.

The first transport rescue team in Guangzhou, the first motor vehicle performance testing station, was the first individual joint rental company. In 1989, it was rated as an advanced provincial enterprise. In 1994, it was awarded the first place by Guangdong Province as the first highway transportation enterprise in the province. In the same year, it was awarded the "advanced group" honorary title of the national communication system by the Ministry of communications.
